Bus Wifi Hotspots for Students

Monroe County Board of Education has placed buses in several areas throughout the county for students to connect to wifi. If you have a school issued device it will connect automatically. We are still working on connecting personal devices through school email accounts and will let you know when that is worked out with the wifi company (should be just a couple of days). Governor Kay Ivey has committed $100 million in CARES Act funding to deliver free internet to eligible K-12 students in their homes this fall. ABC for Students will provide free Internet access for eligible students who are enrolled in the National School Lunch Program through their schools and receive free or reduced lunch. Next week, families will begin to receive letters with vouchers in the mail. The vouchers will cover equipment and service costs for high-speed Internet service through Dec 2020.
